Audi Hungaria Zrt.’s Győr plant never produced so many cars before than last year. In 2021, 171,015 cars rolled off the production line in Győr, nearly 16,000 more than in 2020.

Mercedes-Benz achieved record-breaking car registrations in Hungary in 2021. The German premium brand sold 5,468 passenger cars in Hungary last year, more than ever before.

The Tatabánya investment of South Korea-based Solus Advanced Materials – formerly known as Doosan – will be supported with a long-term loan by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Hungarian business Smart Service Kft. is working on a development aiming to facilitate the lives of the owners of electric cars. The company is working on a charging network management platform with government support.

Despite the global chip shortage, Volkswagen managed to double its electric-car sales in 2021, while its global sales showed a 4.5 percent decline.

Škoda was one of the manufacturers hit by the global shortage of semiconductors the most, registering a 13 percent sales drop from 2020.

Effective from January 1st, it is now mandatory for newly built residential buildings in Hungary to include electric charging points or have them prepared them for future installation.

Last week, the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) held a panel discussion on the employment implications of electrification, which featured speeches by various professionals and decision makers, including Gábor Baranyai, Hungary’s EU ambassador.
