Chervon Auto has announced to bring a HUF 17 billion investment to Miskolc. Set to create 122 jobs, the project will allow the company to manufacture metal casts for advanced EV systems.

BMW’s Debrecen plant will be the world’s first automotive manufacturing plant to operate without the use of fossil fuels. The construction of the facility is about to be launched, while pre-production is scheduled to start in two years’ time.

Nyíregyháza will invest HUF 43 billion to expand its industrial park with government support. The investment will multiply the park’s existing 123-hectare area.

Continental’s Budapest plant has been voted as the Factory of the Year for the third time. Other than winning overall, the plant has secured another four category wins as well.

Audi is forced to partially halt production at its Neckarsulm plant and transfer its employees to a reduced working time. The reason is the shortage of base materials, caused partly by the Russian-Ukrainian war and partly by pandemic restrictions.

This year, a combined 1,500 kilometres of public roads are scheduled for renovation in Hungary. This is financed from government resources amounting to a total of HUF 300 billion.

A declaration of intent on the development of hydrogen-powered freight transport and a hydrogen fuelling network has been signed by the Hungarian Hydrogen and Fuel-cell Association and various large companies, including MOL, Linde Gáz Magyarország Zrt. and Messer Hungarogáz Kft.

Last week saw Techtogether Automotive Hungary being won by BME Motorosport from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In second and third place were StudentTechLab 1 and StudentTechLab 3 from Szombathely, respectively.
