Michael Fohrer, branch vice president of Bombardier Transportation (BT) Services, told Világgazdaság: “Our aim is to increase employment in Hungary and to remain a reliable long-term business partner or supplier of MÁV (Hungarian Railway Company).

According to the newspaper, this could mean that BT is ready to give up its share in the company to the Government.

Mihael Fohrer said: order volumes have declined as it has been receiving fewer orders from Hungary. According to the vice president, this is due to the lack of modernisation tenders carried out by MÁV.

The newspaper reminds that János Fónagy, state secretary of the National Ministry of Development, has said recently: he would be glad if by repurchasing BT’s share in the company, Dunakeszi would be able to become a significant vehicle repair centre such as Stadler in Szolnok.
