SEG Automotive has inaugurated its new production site in Szirmabesenyő. This concludes the relocation campaign of the generators and starters manufacturer’s Hungarian subsidiary.

Rába Járműipari Holding Nyrt. reported on post-tax losses amounting to HUF 665 million in the third quarter of the year. At the same time, the company reported on a y/y profit growth in the first nine months of 2021 compared to the same period last year.

Chinese automotive producer Chervon Auto held the groundbreaking ceremony of its new plant in Miskolc. The company is creating 138 jobs with a new metal components manufacturing unit.

Hankook Tire has started the construction of a new warehouse project in Rácalmás, Fejér County. A HUF 12 billion facility will be built for the storage of raw materials and finished tyre products.

Hajdu Autotechnika Zrt., a supplier known mostly for its exhaust parts, has announced to expand its product portfolio. Thanks to extensive development in the previous years, today the company’s portfolio also consists of drive-independent components with high added value.

In October, new-car sales in the European Union fell by one-third compared to the same period last year. As a result, car sales have been showing a decline for the forth consecutive month.

In the first ten months of the year, Romania’s car production output fell by 6.5 percent year on year compared to the Coronavirus-hit base period in 2020 due to Ford and Dacia plant closures caused by the ongoing microchip shortages.

Professional trade show Automotive Hungary was held last week at Hungexpo, Budapest. As per tradition, Techtogether Automotive Hungary, a competition for engineer students, was held in parallel with the main event, which this year was won by BME Formula Racing Team.
