Manufacturers

The 12,000th employee has started work at Audi Hungaria, adding to the Győr-based plant’s record-breaking headcount.

The VW Group has 90 3D printers at its disposal at 26 different sites, including Győr. Additive manufacturing processes allow completely new constructions, save raw materials and contribute to weight reduction in the final product.

Suppliers

Denso Gyártó Magyarország Kft. has built a communications centre in Székesfehérvár with a HUF 1.5 billion investment.

Spinto Hungária Kft. is building a new automotive tool manufacturing plant in Miskolc. The nearly HUF 6 billion investment will allow the company to build a large tool manufacturing unit in Hungary which will supply products in high demand across the entire country.

Service providers

According to analysts, the automotive industry will go through more changes in the next ten years than it did in the last one hundred. Products, processes and markets will keep changing at a faster and more dramatic rate than ever. The arrival of electric, hybrid and self-driving cars will revolutionise and boost the entire sector.

A new industrial park will be built in Szekszárd with a HUF 6.5 billion investment under the framework of the “Modern Cities” programme. Almost half of the allocated 100-hectare area has already been purchased by Nemzeti Ipari Park Üzemeltető és Fejlesztő Zrt.

68 percent, more than two-thirds of nearly 100 companies surveyed by the German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry deem their current business situation “good”, it was revealed in the chamber’s latest quick survey, published on their website last Tuesday. The results show a significant improvement from the spring, when only 55 percent considered their situation favourable, and a record value since 2005.

Analyses

In October, new car registrations in Hungary increased by 30.4 percent year-on-year, while the first ten months show a 20.2 percent growth from the same period in the previous year.

In October, 10,366 new cars were registered, up from 7,951 units last year, while in the first ten months, 93,056 cars were sold in Hungary.

Production line

Bridgestone has recently inaugurated its latest Hungarian plant, and now we had a chance to take a look at how the company’s new products are made in Tatabánya.

The plant also manufactures the company’s latest development, the DriveGuard run-flat tyre, which, according to Bridgestone, is guaranteed to drive up to 80 kilometres at a maximum speed of 80 km/h even after a puncture.

TechTogether

The internet is full of smart and not-so-smart advice on how to behave during job interviews and what to include or avoid mentioning in our resume.

It is not easy to find the truth, which is why we set up a roundtable meeting with six HR professionals from different companies operating in Hungary to discuss the issues the automotive industry as a whole will need to address.

16 vehicle builders, 16 automotive companies – this is what was needed for the 4th Techtogether.
