Audi Hungaria to expand tool shop, Flextronics and Mould Tech expand Hungarian activities. Bosch and Continental announce changes in leadership. Let’s recap what last week brought in Hungary’s automotive sector. Clicking on the highlighted items will open the full stories.

Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Audi Hungaria Board of Directors, made a joint announcement last week at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade about the expansion of the Győr-based factory’s tool shop.

Zalaegerszeg-based Mould Tech Kft. will be given a HUF 245 million government subsidy for an investment project, which will secure 77 jobs at the company.

Trans-Sped have opened a new e-commerce logistics centre in Nagytarcsa.

Flextronics International have announced to launch a HUF 9 billion investment project, subsidized with a HUF 3.6 billion government aid and creating 120 jobs.

Continental’s Makó plant has appointed a new plant director: Levente Szűrszabó’s began work in his new position on May 1st. He fits perfectly into Continental’s executive team: of Hungarian nationality, with extensive automotive experience and expertise in technology and international practices.

Bosch have also announced leadership changes in Hungary, to be taking effect in August: Daniel Korioth, currently the General Manager of Robert Bosch Kft. and Representative of the Bosch Group in Hungary and Adria Region, has been appointed as President of Bosch Turkey and Middle East, to be effective from 1st of August, 2021.

He will be replaced as Representative of the Bosch Group in Hungary and Adria Region by Dr. István Szászi.

Things are not as straightforward in Dunaújváros, where ISD Dunaferr held a general meeting last week. There are conflicting reportings about the success of the meeting.

As per the decision of event venue Hungexpo, the Industry Days exhibition will be held as an online event this year. This year’s virtual Industry Days event will be held between June 15th and 18th, while the 15th Mach-Tech trade event will be held by Hungexpo Zrt., on site, in May next year.

In April this year, nearly twice as many used car ads were deleted from used-car site kocsi.hu than in March, while the year-on-year increase from April 2020 amounted to 50 percent.
