Innovation-driven Busch-Hungária reports on growth in production volumes, Mercedes-Benz sales decline globally, Hungary's used car market set to reach new heights in 2022. BPW Group-member heavy commercial vehicle parts manufacturer Busch-Hungária Kft. has reported on a 20 percent increase in its production volume in 2021. This was possible thanks to a five-year investment period totalling €19 million.

Mercedes-Benz sold 1,295 new cars in Hungary in Q1 2022.

Mercedes-Benz has also unveiled a new model, the battery-powered all-electric EQS. The entirely carbon-neutral model is the marque’s second all-electric SUV.

Due to the conflict in Ukraine, Volkswagen has plans to grant more autonomy to its regional business divisions and brands.

In Q1 2022, AutoWallis sold 7,410 vehicles, a 11 percent increase from the year before. In retail trade, used car sales showed a similar, 11.8 percent growth.

According to the projections of Das Weltauto, Hungary’s used car market could hit a new record in 2022. The company with a nation-wide sales network says the key driver of used car sales is the OEMs’ inability to operate at maximum production capacities.

New car registrations in the European Union continued to decline in March. March sales volumes showed a 20.5 percent decrease year on year.

The shrinkage of the EU market is still nowhere near what is being projected in Russia. 2022 could bring a 50 percent fall in registrations and production volumes alike.

The semiconductor market set a new record 2021 after showing a more than 25 percent growth last year. Strong demand and increasing base material prices have both contributed to the sector’s growth.
