ZF Lenksysteme creates 150 new jobs in Hungary

Automotive parts manufacturer ZF Lenksysteme´s new investment is a token of the German industrial capital´s confidence in Hungary, said Minister of State Péter Szijjártó at the company´s press conference in Eger, Hungary.

"Our aim is to become the production centre of Europe," added the Minister of State. Szijjártó reminded: there are fundamental and quick changes are seen all over the world, the international field is transforming, which requires new a strategy.

The measures of the past four years, such as the transformation of the tax system, vocational training and higher education and the most flexible labour law in Europe all serve this purpose.

"The soundness of our new strategy is proven by the outstanding performance of the Hungarian automotive industry," Szijjártó said.

"Today, both Hungary and the automotive industry perform better than in the period before the crisis," he added. The growth path we can see today in the country's economy has been driven by the Hungarian automotive sector.

The Minister of State said that Hungary is able to perform better because of a rise in employment and global giants are investing more and more in the country. ZF Lenksysteme has invested HUF 35 bln in Hungary, supported by a HUF 2.8 bln grant by the Hungarian Government.

According to company data, the Eger site of ZF Lenksysteme was established in 2003 with 35 employees, while today, over 700 people work at the Hungarian plant of the global company. In 2012, the company's income from sales amounted to EUR 207.5 million.
