Virtual production has started at BMW’s Hungarian plant

More than two years left till production can get the green light at BMW Group’s Hungarian plant. However, since the factory is the company’s first to be completely virtually planned and validated, it was possible to start production in the virtual space. Using Nvidia’s Omniverse Enterprise, a digital twin platform developed to simulate manufacturing and logistical systems, BMW plant Debrecen is the Group’s first factory to start virtual production. The plant currently under construction is going to be opened in 2025, and will produce next generational electric models of BMW’s Neue Klasse.
