Szabó Fogaskerékgyártó to build a new production hall
Szabó Fogaskerékgyártó Kft., which assembles high quality gears and gearboxes, will build a new production hall by the autumn of this year.The foundation stone of the 2.5 billion forints investment was laid on Wednesday, April 24 in Kaposvár.
Krisztián Szabó, the managing director of Szabó Fogaskerékgyártó Kft., said that the construction of the new 5.000 square metre hall, equipped with solar panels and modern energy technology, is necessary because the company has outgrown its current 3.500 square metre hall due to its dynamic development.
The company manufactures hundreds of different types of gears, supplies large gears to wind energy companies and also deals in heat treatment, selling its products mainly in the European Union, with Germany being its largest market. They supply mainly to the agricultural machinery industry, but also see potential in the automotive industry, he noted. The managing director said they currently have around 50 employees, with the number increasing in line with growing production needs, and the new production hall has the capacity to employ up to 100 people.
The site also functions as a dual training centre, and is involved in training engineers. He also added that the company achieved net sales of around 1.8 billion forints in 2021 and 2.4 billion forints in 2022, with a profit of around 277 million forints in 2021 and 383 million forints in 2022. Last year, the company had a turnover of around 3 billion forints, with a profit of around 400 million forints, and further dynamic growth is expected this year.
