Suzuki secures over 10 percent of car sales in Hungary in 2016
Magyar Suzuki Corp. ended 2016 with a record high in its sales in Hungary. The Japanese manufacturer’s Hungarian market share grew from 9.72 percent in 2015 to 11.67 percent in 2016.
According to the latest statistics published by Datahouse, Suzuki sold 11,266 cars in Hungary last year, accounting for 11.67 percent of all cars (96,555 units) registered in the country in 2016.
With a share of 23 percent, the Suzuki Vitara, launched in the spring of 2015 and fitted with a turbo engine in 2016, dominated the Hungarian SUV segment and as a result the passenger car segment as well.
The Esztergom-built model sold 6,538 units in Hungary between January 1 and December 31, 2016.
