Spring manufacturer NHK´s move to Hungary confirmed

Japanese automotive springs manufacturer NHK Spring has purchased an 8-ha land property at Tata Business Park for the construction of a new production plant. Manufacturing could begin in May 2016, according to the mayor of Tata.

József Michl (Fidesz-KDNP) said in the first phase the company asked permission to build a 10,000-square-metre production hall, which will create 100 new jobs.

Kazumi Tamamura, president of the NHK group announced in March that as a response to increasing order volumes in Europe, the company would build a new production plant in Komárom-Esztergom county, where production capacity could reach 3.5 million vehicle spring units and 1.2 stabilizer bars by 2020.

According to data on their website, Japanese NHK Spring have been active since 1939, and boasts a headcount of over 20,000 people. Their products include automotive springs, railway components, access control systems, parking systems and computer parts.

According to 2014 data, the company's share capital was JPY 17 billion and booked a revenue of JPY 570 billion.
