Levente Tibori Pál, factory director of SMR Automotive Mirror Technology Hungary Bt. and Péter Földesi, rector of Széchenyi University, signed the agreement on June 4, which grants the University's students with even more opportunities to expand their practical know-how at SMR's Mosonszolnok and Mosonmagyaróvár plants. Another important field of the agreement is to continue and develop mutual research activities.

"This agreement is a message to the world and Hungary's higher education. We are saying that we have a role and a task in this world, but these tasks do not come to us on their own, we have to strive for these agreements," said the rector at the signing ceremony.

SMR will contribute to the partnership with defining problems, while Széchenyi István University will put its laboratories at the researchers' disposal.

To our question whether this agreement is expected to contribute to the creation of new laboratories at the University's, Péter Földesi said: "We would very much like to get there. This, however, is not only a question of resources, but also the question of what kind of laboratories we should build.

"In the first phase we would like to gauge our real needs, and for that we'll need approximately one and a half years. Thus, new laboratories required for future-oriented R&D projects could be built by the end of 2016 or the beginning of 2017," added the rector.
