The ceremony to launch mass production for the TT was attended by Gerd Walker, director of Audi Hungaria responsible for vehicle production, Bernd Marterns, Audi AG board of directors member responsible for procurement, Hubert Waltl, Audi AG board of directors member responsible for production, and Thomas Faustmann, the CEO of Audi Hungaria.

"With the production of premium vehicles, our Hungarian production site has been proving its competence for several years. It is backed by the performance of a flexible and experienced team. With their expertise they contribute to continuing the worldwide success of the TT, which is now in its third generation," said Hubert Waltl, Audi AG board of directors member responsible for production.

Thomas Faustmann, the CEO of the Győr-based plant pointed out: "The Audi TT, the highlight of Győr-based car production, is produced completely here. In the last few years, Audi Hungaria has produced over 500,000 TT cars in cooperation with Audi's Ingolstadt-based central plant," added Faustmann.

"The new-gen Audi TT is the third model to be completely made in Győr", said Gerd Walker, director of Audi Hungaria responsible for vehicle production. "The successful integration of this model into the new production line is an important milestone in the Győr-based plant's history. It means that production has now reached full capacity," he added.

800 of the almost 3,000 employees at the new vehicle plant have already worked in the production of the TT at the old assembly shop located in the engine factory. Each staff member of vehicle production take part in an extensive training programme at Audi Hungaria's Project and Training Center and various Germany-based production sites.
