Salgglas inaugurates HUF 1 billion development in Salgótarján

Salgglas Zrt. has carried out a HUF 1 billion development project in Salgótarján, financed with a bank loan and from the company´s own resources.

Market-leading glass products manufacturer Salgglas has created 70 new jobs and purchased a brand new furnace and related machinery, announced Salgglas Zrt. CEO Gábor Kugler at the inauguration ceremony.

Hungary's domestic automotive industry registered a 34 percent growth this year, while Salgglas is aiming for an even larger growth rate.

Kugler said the company, employer of 310 employees, has created 70 new jobs as a result of the expansion. The company hired several job-seekers, who work at the company as temporary staffers. The company's production hall boasts 50 large machines, while a part of its storage unit will be converted into a production facility next year, added the CEO.

Salgglas is under the ownership of investors from Germany and New Zealand. The company was built on the foundations of Salgótarján Glass Factory, established in 1984. Gábor Kugler told Hungarian news agency MTI that last year, Salgglas registered a turnover of EUR 20 million and is expecting to close the year with a revenue of EUR 22 million.

Thanks to new orders for next year, the company is expecting to register a turnover of EUR 31 million in 2015. The company's glass products are bought by among others Audi, Bentley and Porsche.
