Győr-based Rába, a producer of axle and drivetrain systems, has signed a supply contract with Mexico’s DINA, a manufacturer of buses and trolley buses, to supply its models with newly-developed axle systems.

In cooperation with one of the biggest Mexican manufacturers, DINA, a producer of heavy-duty and purpose-built lorries, urban buses, armoured military vehicles, and intercity buses, Rába has adapted its products, that have already proven themselves in other strategic segments, to the needs of the Mexican market.

During the joint technical development Rába developed disc brake axles that can be used in diesel buses as well as in trolley buses.

The Győr-based company has already delivered the prototype axles for the partner’s Brighter diesel and Ridder trolley buses, and supported DINA with on-site axle application engineering.

The testing of the axle systems is currently under way.

The test phase is expected to be finished in 2016, allowing for new opportunities in terms of serial deliveries under the framework of a long-term agreement.
