Viktor Orbán said after the meeting at the Parliament: "Hungary will remain by Audi's side through thick and thin".

He emphasised that Audi is an employer of 11,000 – 20,000 including its suppliers – and a major producer in the country.

The biggest value of the plant are the Hungarian workers, who have rendered the subsidiary into an internationally successful company, Orbán added.

"It is a highly successful form of cooperation, a great example of how Western capital should be arriving in and integrating into our country," he said.

Peter Kössler said that Audi Hungaria is a true success story with a history of productive cooperation with the Hungarian government going back to several years. He emphasised that the company is planning to continue this collaboration in the future. He reminded that the mutual work has provided valuable experiences for both parties.

Audi Hungaria plays a definitive role in Audi AG and the group is now unthinkable without it, Kössler said.

He added that Audi Hungaria is looking at highly successful results for 2015, all of its 11,500 positions are secure and they have favourable prospects for the future.
