Opel Szentgotthárd plant director reports on record-breaking production volumes in 2016
Last year, nearly 630,000 engines were manufactured at Opel’s Szentgotthárd engine plant, up by 23 percent from their previous record, Grzegorz Buchal, plant director at Opel Szentgotthárd, have told journalists in Budapest.
Evaluating the company's 2016 results, Buchal added that the previous record-highs in production volume were registered in 1999 and 2015; in both years the plant manufactured nearly 512,000 engine units.
Last year, the vast majority of the engines produced, over 470,000 units, were built at the company’s advanced Flex plant, a manufacturing unit engaged in the production of 38 engine variants.
The production unit building previous-generation Family engines made 158,000 Opel power plants in 2016.
