Nokian Tyres announces new factory in Bihar County

Finland-based Nokian Tyres has announced to build a new tyre plant in Nagyvárad with a €650 million investment. The company has previously decided to close down its Russia-based plants due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Construction is scheduled to start in early-2023, while production is expected to launch in the second half of 2024.
The new tyre factory in Nagyvárad will manufacture tyres for 6 million cars annually, primarily for compacts and SUVs.
The plant, looking to supply the Central European market, is expected to have close to 500 employees.
