New battery plant could be built near Szeged

A Chinese-Korean firm is looking to invest 500 billion HUF in the city of Kistelek, situated 35 kilometre north of Szeged. Very little is known about the project at this point, however the city council of Kistelek already gave its approval for the manufacturer to purchase a 12 hectare land, where a new plant would be built. According to the mayor of Kistelek, the battery component maker is a supplier of both Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
