Mercedes workers go on warning strike as management fails to reach agreement with Vasas

After a series of unsuccessful wage talks between representatives of Vasas Trade Union and the management of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary, earlier this week a group of assembly line workers held a warning strike outside the facility to voice their demands.

A recent communication from the Kecskemét-based Mercedes-Benz plant says the management is ready to continue the wage negotiations with Vasas Trade Union, but they did not disclose further any further details.

They say the plant management had already made an agreement with the Free Trade Union of Engineers and Technicians (MTSZSZ) on a two-stage wage plan that proposes a more significant increase than their previous offer, however this was not agreed to or signed by Vasas, the trade union with the highest membership among the plant's workers.
