Mercedes Kecskemét factory to be expanded with a battery integrating plant

From the middle of the decade, models based on the MMA platform, which compatible with both purely electric and traditional drivetrains, and a car based on the MB.EA platform, developed for battery electric models, will be produced at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Kecskemét. The car manufacturer announced last year that it would invest 1 billion euros in the plant to prepare it for the production of new models. As part of the developments, new buildings are planned, in one of which batteries will be installed in the vehicles being built in Kecskemét. In the battery integrating plant, battery units shipped by suppliers will be equipped with control electronics before they are integrated with the vehicles.
