Mercedes-Benz to install new EV production lines at Kecskemét unit with new investment

Announcing the year’s largest investment yet, Mercedes-Benz has said it will expand its Hungarian assembly plant and body shop with new production lines.
The investment will allow the company to add new all-electric platforms to its production portfolio.
2024 will mark the production start of vehicles based on the brand’s repositioned MMA platform, which will offer both purely electric and conventional variants and is set to redefine the company’s compact “Entry Luxury” segment.
From the middle of the decade, a new model from the higher, all-electric MB.EA platform of the “Core Luxury” segment will join the plant’s product portfolio.
