Mercedes-Benz starts preparations for gigantic investment project in Kecskemét
Mercedes-Benz announced in June 2016 to build a second manufacturing unit in Kecskemét for the production of front- and rear-wheel drive passenger cars.
The company has now announced that preparations for the large-scale investment had commenced at the end of last year. Construction works are expected to start in 2018, while production is set to launch by the end of the decade.
To be expanded in the spirit of Industry 4.0, the plant will be ready for the production of front-, rear- and alternative drive vehicles. In the future. the Mercedes-Benz product portfolio is said to be expanded to 40 models.
