Mercedes-Benz celebrates 100,000 CLAs from Kecskemét
The CLA, manufactured exclusively at Mercedes-Benz Kecskemét, is already one of the German brand´s most popular models. Recently, the 100,000th CLA has been sold.
Mercedes' front-wheel drive compact model family is very popular across the globe, already 800,000 cars built on the A or B platform have been sold worldwide.
The compact family, including the A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA, has sold over 250,000 this year alone. Of that the CLA, built exclusively in Kecskemét since January 2013, has sold 100,000 units. The most popular variant is the CLA 250, powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine.

Sales of the four-door compact coupé manufactured in Kecskemét began in April 2013. The largest market for the model is the U.S., even though sales over there were only launched this spring.
In only months, 30,000 CLAs have been marketed in the States. This model was the first Mercedes to be sold from below $30,000. In July, sales of the B-Class were launched in the U.S., to be followed by the GLA sport-utility model in September.
30 percent of the CLAs sold were marketed in Western Europe. The two biggest markets here are Germany and Great Britain.
In addition to the B-Class and CLA, the Kecskemét plant will soon launch the mass production a third model, the CLA Shooting Brake. The new model will be available from the second half of 2015, while orders will be open from the spring.
