Lear to close its Gödöllő factory

Lear Corporation closes its factory in Gödöllő. 800 workers will lose their jobs with the shutdown of the automotive supplier's cable harness manufacturing plant. According to Zsolt Kozma, president of the trade union of Lear Corporation Hungary Kft., the reason for the closure is probably that the Hungarian wage costs are too high for the American company, which is moving its production to countries like Serbia, Morocco and Tunisia.
