Piling works on the new BMW site in Debrecen are scheduled to start on 13th February, in just two weeks. In the first stage of the project, a 460,000-square-metre facility will be built.

Kri-Sa Kft., a manufacturer of metal structures based in Dombóvár, has expanded its plant with a HUF 270 million investment. The investment received a HUF 50 million government aid.

The Hungarian Samsung plant in Göd, near Budapest, has made plans to quarantine and screen its Chinese employees, although no restrictive measures have been put in place by authorities with regard to the factory.

The coronavirus has reached Webasto’s German headquarters. The German automotive supplier said a second employee has contracted the disease after making contact with a colleague who had just returned to the company’s Stockdork headquarters from China.

Opel has announced to release a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, the Grandland X Hybrid4. The model is part of the brand’s green strategy alongside the Opel Corsa-e. The manufacturer is committed to reducing CO2 emissions in a bid to electrify its entire model portfolio by 2024.

Bosch has announced layoffs after an unsuccessful year in 2019. According to a report released on the company’s website last week, automotive parts and components manufacturer Robert Bosch GmbH posted declining financial results in 2019 due to a setback in global automotive manufacturing volumes.

BorgWarner has announced to buy up Delphi Technologies as both companies are making a shift towards the development power electronics and electric drivetrain technologies, also known as electrification.
