Agrikon KAM, a supplier to several global manufacturers, has increased headcount by 15 people as a result of a new business with agricultural manufacturer Zetor, announced the CEOs of the two companies on Thursday.

Agrikon KAM Kft.'s CEO Pál Velkey said: the company, under a majority Hungarian ownership, won the business with Zetor to supply the Czech manufacturer with 3,000 cabin frames in an international tender. The company will start manufacturing the components for Zetor in February.

Agrikon KAM, manufacturer of special-purpose superstructures and components in a 40,000-square-metre production hall and employer of 350, installed a new production line featuring robot technology in its Kiskunmajsa plant.

The CEO added: this cooperation contributes to Agrikon KAM's, the fifth largest manufacturer in Europe in its respective market, effort to increase its competitiveness and consolidate its international position.

Velkey said the company is expecting a significant increase in revenues for the following period.

In 2011 Agrikon's registered income was EUR 22.4 million, in 2010 EUR 22.6 million and last year it amounted to EUR 23.4 million. The company's development is indicated by the fact that while in 2011, Agrikon was an employer of 295 people, in late-2013, the number of its employees amounted to 325.

Velkey said that the company is expecting a revenue of HUF 25 billion for 2014, while for 2016, the target is to achieve EUR 40 million. Last year, the company registered a pre-tax profit of HUF 1 billion.

Zetor has been engaged in the manufacturing of tractors for 65 years. Last year, the Czech company produced 4,500 tractors.

Zetor Tractors booked a consolidated pre-tax profit of CZK 323 million, 7 percent more than in the previous year.
