Kecskemét College to focus on R&D

Kecskemét College has announced to launch new R&D programmes along with industrial players in the region and the local government of Kecskemét.

Kecskemét sees the future in research and development and announced to build a new R&D centre. The project is managed by Kecskemét College and is supported by AIPA Great Hungarian Plain Industry Development Non-profit Public Benefit Ltd. (AIPA Alföldi Iparfejlesztési Nonprofit Közhasznú Kft.), Kecskemét Creative Knowledge Centre Public Foundation (Kecskeméti Kreatív Tudásközpont Közalapítvány) and the municipality of Kecskemét.

The aim of the participants is to make Kecskemét one of the centres of research and development in Hungary. The participants said in a statement that in the Promoted Automotive Region in Kecskemét, more and more projects are expected to launch which will have a direct effect on the advancement R&D in higher education and vocational training, which will further strengthen the domestic and international relations of Kecskemét and industry players as well.

In the future, Kecskemét College is set to provide the supply of well-trained professionals and researchers for sectors with a significant presence in the region (automotive, mechanical industry, automation, gardening and food processing). Kecskemét College aims to conform its education portfolio and services to industry players.

In the first phase, the partners will focus on the following research areas: research and development of automotive materials, industrial automation, measurement technology and optimisation, food manufacturing, gardening and food processing.
