According to seasonally adjusted volume indices, investments went down by 1.1% in comparison with the previous quarter.

In Q1 2015:

  • Investment activities were reduced by 4.5%, within which investments in machinery and equipment were 1.0% and construction investments 8.9% lower compared to the same period of the previous year.
  • Investment output decreased in the majority of segments, and out of the segments with the largest weight, the volume of investments in transportation and storage fell by 8.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The reason for this was a significant fall in railway and motorway constructions, the development of city transport networks, and the modernisation of vehicle stocks.
  • Out of sections representing relatively low shares, investments were substantially reduced in financial and insurance activities (32%), human health and social work activities (29%), education (26%) as well as administrative and support service activities (15%).
  • The output of investments fell by one-fifth in public administration and defence as well as compulsory social security.
  • Investments in manufacturing, accounting for one-fifth of all investments, essentially stagnated (+0.2%), higher growths within the branch were measured in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products as well as machinery and equipment n.e.c.
  • Investments increased significantly in water supply, sewerage and waste management (28%) and electricity, gas and steam supply (15%).
