Ikarus Egyedi bankruptcy brings down electric bus fleet in Budapest
On top of continued driver shortage at the Budapest public transport company, Ikarus Egyedi’s bankruptcy could bring down the capital’s entire electric bus fleet.
12 buses, 60 percent of the 20-vehicle Modulo fleet have been unable to enter operation due to inoperability, Hungarian news site Index reports.
This is expected to further rise in the days to come as the bankruptcy proceedings against Ikarus Egyedi prevents maintenance on the notoriously fragile constructions.
Maintenance technicians have already stopped their services for the electric buses.
