Hungary’s GDP plummets in Q2 2020

According to seasonally and calendar effects adjusted data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH), Hungary’s gross domestic product declined by 13.5 percent in the second quarter of 2020 compared to the same period in the previous year (raw data shows a similar, 13.6 percent downturn).
The extraordinary situation created by the Covid19 pandemic forced most branches of national economy in recession, while the services sector and industry also had a significant contribution to the downturn of Hungary’s economic performance.
