Hungarian-made CLA Shooting Brake to be sold from March 2015

The latest Mercedes model manufactured at the German car maker´s Hungarian plant is currently being tested on the streets of Kecskemét. Sales of the new CLA Shooting Brake will begin on 1 March 2015.

The German car manufacturer confirmed earlier that a new front-wheel drive compact built on the platform of the A-Class (A-Class, B-Class, CLA, GLA) is due to arrive next year.

The testing of the new CLA Shooting Brake has already begun, the car, manufactured exclusively at the Kecsekemét plant, will be unveiled by Mercedes at the Detroit Motor Show in January.

The new CLA Shooting Brake will be outfitted with the same engines as the standard four-door CLA coupé. The least powerful engine is a 1.5-litre 109bhp diesel from Renault, followed by a 1.8-litre 136bhp and a 2.1-litre 170 bhp diesel engine.

The smallest petrol engine available for the Shooting Brake is a 1.6-litre power source, producing 136bhp or 156bhp depending on the variant.

The 2-litre petrol engine produces 211bhp. The CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake will probably be powered by the manufacturer's turbocharged 2-litre petrol engine, capable of producing 360bhp.
