Hungarian gov’t introduces EV subsidy
The Hungarian government is set to subsidize electric vehicle (EV) purchases with a total allocated budged of HUF 2 billion (€6.5 million) in 2016, economy minister Mihály Varga said on Wednesday at a conference on electric mobility.
Mihály Varga, Minister of National Economy, said at Emobility Forum 2016 that the government will subsidize electric passenger car and LCV purchases with a new incentive.
Capped at HUF 1.5 million (€4,800) per vehicle, the subsidy is maximized at 21 percent of the gross purchase price or lease of new vehicles with a retail price of no more than HUF 15 million (€48,000), Varga added.
According to the minister, call for applications will open on October 27.
