Hungarian exec appointed as new head of Opel engine plant in Szentgotthárd

Effective from October 19th, Olívia Mesics will be appointed as the new director of Opel’s engine plant in Szentgotthárd. Her predecessor, Gregorz Buchal, is returning to Poland to oversee a new project in the PSA Group following a nearly 5-year term in Hungary, a spokesperson for the company announced this week.
Szentgotthárd-born Mesics (pictured above on the left being congratulated by foreign minister Péter Szijjártó) has worked at Opel’s Hungarian unit since 1997.
Prior to her latest assignment as plant director, she worked as head of HR, while earlier on she had fullfilled the roles of production manager and deputy plant director.
