Hungarian car registrations January-April 2015
According to Datahouse, in the first four months of 2015, 13,369 new passenger cars and light trucks were registered, up 15.5 percent from the same month the year before.
The most popular brands are: Ford (4,015), Opel (3,233), Skoda (2,938), Volkswagen (2,677) and Suzuki (1,850). The fourth most popular model is manufactured in Hungary.
In April, 8,072 vehicles were registered (up 19 percent): 6,737 passenger cars (up 21.8 percent) and 1,335 light trucks (up 6.5 percent). Brand sales included 1,071 Ford, 841 Opel, 745 Volkswagen, 723 Skoda and 647 Suzuki cars.

Thanks to a significant order from the Hungarian police department, Mercedes-Benz saw a substantial improvement (768 units, +83 percent), but Fiat (+64 percent), Jeep (+122 percent), Isuzu (+64 percent) and Mitsubishi (+162 percent) also kicked off the year with a notable increase in sales.
Less successful were Peugeot (-17 percent), Citroen (-24 percent), Seat (-12 percent), Land Rover (-16 percent), Mini (-34 percent) and Lancia (-46 percent).
The most popular vehicles in the first four months were compacts or small family cars (C-segment), accounting for 29.74 percent of all sales in Hungary.
The best-selling car in this segment was the Skoda Octavia with 1,802 registrations. Compacts are followed by SUVs (J-segment) with a market share of 15.67 percent (best-selling model: Dacia Duster with 575 units) and small cars (B-segment) with a 13.79 percent market share (best-selling model: Suzuki Swift with 853 units units).

The best-selling MPV (M-segment) was the Hungarian-made Mercedes-Benz B-Class (275 units), while the most popular large family car (D-segment) was the Volkswagen Passat (432 units). The best-selling mini car (A-segment) was the Fiat 500 (585 units) and the most popular car in the executive segment (E-segment) was the BMW 5-series (142 units).
The best-selling sportscar (S-segment) was the Volkswagen W CC (37 units) and the most popular luxury car (F-segment) was the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (47 units). The best-selling light truck was the Fiat Ducato (510 units), while the best-selling LCV was the VW Caddy.
The best-selling pickup was the Ford Ranger (399 units), while the most popular van was the Opel Vivaro (71 units), according to Datahouse. HGV sales were dominated by 16-ton+ vehicles. New 3.5ton+ vehicles are almost exclusively purchased by international haulage firms (1,848 units in total).
