Manufacturers

New investment announced at Mercedes Kecskemét. With a €15 million investment, the Germany-based manufacturer will introduce a new logistics concept by expanding the Kecskemét plant's logistics hall and updating the parts supply system of the assembly line.

Audi Hungaria tool shop celebrates jubilee. The Hungarian unit of the other German premium manufacturer handed over its tool shop ten years ago, in 2005, launching production for pressing tools and other manufacturing equipment.

As a result of a longstanding cooperation between the Hungarian police authorities and Magyar Suzuki Corporation, the manufacturer donated a new Suzuki Vitara to the Esztergom Police Department.

Delphi has completed a HUF 3.33 billion investment at its Tatabánya plant. The project, launched two years ago, was supported with a HUF 996 million state subsidy.

Originally the company undertook the opening of 50 new positions, however since then, its headcount has grown from 1,150 to 1,800, adding up to a whopping thirteenfold overfulfilment.

AGC top management visit Hungarian unit. As a tradition now, every year the top managers of AGC Glass Europe come to Tatabánya to visit the local production unit and evaluate the group's work and lay out the company's future plans.

The Beijing Public Transportation Group has recently purchased 1,500 new buses equipped with Allison automatic transmissions.

The company's entire fleet consists of approximately 15,000 vehicles, and the transport firm been a loyal customer of Allison automatic transmissions in its procurements for the last 15 years.

Hungarian-built Modulo: a likely candidate in BKV's latest procurement

The Hungarian government is supporting seven giant investments, including those of Bosch, SMR and Exedy Dynax, with a total support of HUF 19 billion, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced last week.

Last week, Minister of National Economy Mihály Varga handed out the ministry's Enterprise of the Month awards. In November, the Investor of the Month was Magyar Cukor Zrt., the SME of the Month was Robinia Group Zrt., while the Startup of the Month award went to IVM Zrt.

Following a five-year hiatus, a total of nine dealerships have begun selling new Lada cars again in Hungary, István Ormos, CEO of importer Lada Hungary, announced last week.

Budapest transport company BKV announces plans to purchase 20 electric buses. The government will provide HUF 3.9 billion non-refundable aid to support to project.

Although no official announcement has been made regarding the exact make, it is believed the new vehicles are the new Modulo buses, developed and built in Hungary.
