Hungarian automotive industry: week 45

Week 45 saw Automotive Hungary and TechTogether, two major automotive events, and the production launch of the TT Roadster, Audi´s fourth model manufactured at the car maker´s Győr plant.

Automotive student competition TechTogether was held in parallel with Automotive Hungary, the country's largest automotive trade fair. We reported on the summit of the Hungary's automotive industry in great detail.

November 5 also saw the production launch of the Audi TT Roaster, the fourth Audi model built at the German premium car maker's Győr-based plant.

The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency at Automotive Hungary

Last week we made an interview with the assistant manager of Hajdu Autotechnika. Thanks to the support of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), the Téglás-based company is cooperating with auto makers such as Daimler and Volkswagen AG.

Marcali-based fan manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg Kft. has carried out a HUF 1 billion development project, creating 75 jobs as a result.

Metalworking firm Csaba Metal is expanding its Békéscsaba-based site with an investment of HUF 1 billion.

Mass production of Audi TT Roadster launched in Győr

József Pálinkás, the ex-president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, announced that a significant sum will be spent on boosting R&D in Hungary in the following years. Pálinkás is the founder of the Hungarian National Innovation Office. They will have 1.8 percent of Hungary's GDP at their disposal.

Bonyhád Business park is nearing completion. The industrial park is also awaiting automotive suppliers.

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Hajdú-Bihar County and the University of Debrecen signed an agreement last week to establish a regional innovation agency.

BMW i8: now also available in Hungary
