Thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology Hungary Kft. will open an engineering office in Szeged for the development of electromechanical steering systems. The investment will cost a total of HUF 1.8 billion.

The Audi Hungaia press shop, engaged in the production of body panels for cars manufactured at the Győr-based plant, as well as other models of the Volkswagen Group, since 2013, has reached a new milestone. The plant’s machine press line has completed its 25 millionth press cycle, which has made possible the production of 45 million pressed panels.

Hajdu Hajdusági Zrt. has expanded with a new solar park. The HUF 180 million investment will help achieve higher cost effectiveness and sustainability.

Hungary now has national legislation for the procurement of energy-efficient, green vehicles in state-level and municipal sectors. A new government decree stipulates a minimum share of low- and zero-emission vehicles for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and suburban buses.

A new battery testing facility is currently under construction near ZalaZone. The TÜV Rheinland-owned centre will start operation in the middle of 2024.

Kravtex-Kühne Group has delivered the first units of a batch of 100 buses to Volánbusz Győr. Purchased at a total value of HUF 6.5 billion, the new buses will enter service in 15 counties from November.
