The Hungarian government is supporting Audi's HUF 32 billion investment with a HUF 6 billion subsidy, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced last Monday in Budapest after signing an agreement with the German car maker's Hungarian subsidiary.

Last week, Hatvan-based Robert Bosch Elektronika Kft. handed over a HUF 2.9 billion investment in Hatvan on Wednesday, a new production facility creating 50 new jobs in the town.

Győr-based robot systems manufacturer igm Robotrendszerek Kft. celebrated its 25th anniversary last week, offering an insight to its production facility for those attending the event.

Federal-Mogul announced plans to expand its operation in Hungary. The supplier's microtorq elastomeric shaft seals are fitted into GM's new-generation 1.0–1.5-litre 3- and 4-cylinder engines.

Austropannon, Hungarian subsidiary of Eberspächer also celebrated its 25th anniversary last week.

Automove Hungary, the country's largest automotive-themed trade fair will soon get underway in Budapest.

It was announced last week that the Hungarian government is spending HUF 1 billion on supporting the most disadvantaged groups in seeking employment on the labour market.

A new tramtrain will be built between Szeged and Hódmezővásárhely, it was also announced last week by local media sources. Tramtrains are faster than trams with more frequent stops (on in every 500 m) than traditional trains.

The gross average wage in Hungary is HUF 244,000, while the net average amounts to HUF 160,000, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office reported last week.
