Suzuki are stepping up their game with the new Suzuki SX4.

The new-gen SX4 S-Cross features significant changes both inside and outside, and Suzuki are expecting an improved position in the C segment and 11,000 cars sold in the Hungarian market in 2016.

We sat down with Imre Győri, CEO of Magyarmet, to talk about the challenges local foundries have to face. Győri wished to disprove false notions about foundries, as they also contribute to the labour shortage most firms are suffering from.

He stressed that their company uses automated production technologies, where robots and modern equipment help create a 21st-century manufacturing environment.

In another interview, Zsolt Szijártó, the CEO of West Pannon Automotive and Mechatronics Centre (NYPJMK), told us about the challenges facing the local automotive industry, particularly automotive firms in the western region, and possible solutions.

Győrűjbarát-based Török Gépipari Kft. opened an anodizing plant, featuring modern, automated equipment. The company’s CEO said their production line is fully automated, which means the human factor is completely diminished.

The second phase of the Audi Hungaria School expansion project has been completed.

This stage of the project included a new wing, a completely refurbished and expanded facility and a new hall, now ready to welcome the school’s 509 students – including 52 first-year students – and 60 teachers.

Barna Mezey, the president of Budapest-based university ELTE said in an interview with Autopro that they are expanding that portfolio with automotive courses.

The university will oversee higher education and Szombathely, where the local university’s dual education programme enjoys the involvement of several local large businesses.
