Last week, Japanese-owned spring manufacturer NHK Spring handed over its first European production site at Tata Business Park.

By 2020, the plant is set to manufacture 3.5 million shock absorber springs and 1.2 million stabiliser bars annually.

Hungarian national railway transport company MÁV is supporting fresh graduates about to start their careers with an internship programme launched on September 8.

The programme had openings for 25 graduates from MÁV and 6 from regional railway transport company GYSEV.

Last week, the first 20 new buses were delivered to Kaposvár out of a new fleet of 52 vehicles gradually entering operation at DKK Zrt. (South Transdanubian Transport Centre) in Baranya, Somogy and Tolna counties.

Mihály Varga, Minister of National Economy announces new incentive on EV purchases

The Hungarian government is supporting electric vehicle (EV) purchases with a HUF 2 billion (€6.5 million) allocation in 2016, economy minister Mihály Varga said last Wednesday at a conference on electric mobility.

The local government of Kaposvár announced last week to install seven new EV charging stations in the town next year with a HUF 30 million (approx. €100,000) investment.

The number of students in Hungarian dual educational programmes has gone up from 440 in 2012 to 2,990 in 2016.

The 24 universities participating in dual training programmes have formed partnerships with 555 companies (up from 187 in 2012), and a further increase in the number of collaborations is expected.

Automotive trade fair Automotive Hungary will be held between October 19 and 21, an event which will be featuring the Techtogether Automotive Hungary student competition, organized by Autopro.
