Last week we asked around how the management of local manufacturing plants help workers to tackle the heatwave. Let’s recap what the 33rd week this year brought in Hungary’s automotive industry.

We asked local OEMs to tell us how they help employees survive the heat on the production line. There are plants where employees are given free ice-cream.

According to a new report by the World Economic Forum, 25 countries are in highly favourable condition in terms of industrial prospects. Hungary is 42nd on the list.

A new logistics centre is set to be built in Nagymányok. The 7.6-hectare area will have renovated railway tracks, public utilities, warehouses and other logistics, office and customs facilities.

Arrabona Racing Team, the sole Hungarian team competing at Formula Student Germany, held at the German Formula 1 race track, have returned to Hungary. They finished in 18th position overall out of 58 internal combustion teams, improving their result from last year by 88 points.

A GDP growth of 4.3 percent is expected in Hungary in the second half of 2018. These favourable prospects are driven by the growth of agriculture, industry, market services and consumption.

“We should take into account that tasks that students consider interesting and challenging are often carried out in disgust by employees – for triple the money,” Levente Baross, president of Schönherz School Association, points out. Baross believes employing students is a good investment, as even though they will not increase profits overnight, they will be tomorrow’s loyal and motivated workforce.

The electronics industry increased by 6.6 percent in June, while the rubber industry reported on a growth of 10 percent in the same month.

The output of the vehicle manufacturing industry grew by 2 percent. The manufacturing of road car parts increased by 7.6 percent, while the production of road cars decreased by 4.9 percent.
