Announcing the year’s largest investment yet, Mercedes-Benz has said it will expand its Hungarian assembly plant with a HUF 400 billion project. The investment will add new all-electric models to the plant’s production portfolio.

Bosch Rexroth has acquired a minority share in Brusa HyPower AG. The deal with e-mobility firm will allow Bosch Rexroth to expand its mobile working machine portfolio for the electrification of off-highway vehicles.

With 432,000 cars changing hands, the Hungarian used car market set a new record in the first half of 2022, exceeding last year’s results by 7.4 percent year on year.

In the first half of 2022, every tenth new car registered in the European Union had an all-electric battery-powered drivetrain.

According to the latest statistics published by the European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers Association, the positive trend continued through the second quarter of the year, indicating growth induced by economic recovery.
