Ford leads Hungarian vehicle registrations in 2016

Last year, 96,500 new cars were registered in Hungary, 25.1 percent more than the year before. In 2016, the best-selling brand in Hungary was yet again Ford with a market share of nearly 13 percent.

According to Datahouse, 9,750 passenger cars were registered in December, up 37.5 percent from the same month in the previous year.

In the whole of 2016, 21,333 LCVs were registered, with 2,438 units sold in December, a 21.8 and 6.3 percent increase from their respective base periods.

Similarly to 2015, the brand most favoured by Hungarian car buyers was Ford with 15,091 units sold and a market share of 12.8 percent.

In second place we have Suzuki with 11,266 units sold, while in third place we find Opel with a registration figure of 10,536 units.

In 2016, 5,515 LGVs (lorries and tractors) were registered in Hungary, down by 188 units (3.3 percent) from 2015.

Bus registrations saw a whopping, nearly 25 percent decrease to 411 units from the previous year.
