The company said in a report that it has carried out an investment of 3.3 billion HUF, supported by a 822 million HUF grant by the New Széchenyi Plan, and installed new production lines and significantly increased the production capacity of the Szombathely plant, creating 37 additional jobs as a result of a complex technological development.

Epcos CEO Balázs Takács said earlier that an investment this big usually involves the creation of additional jobs, but in this case the project included automation as well.

He added that the new production lines will manufacture automotive components for electronic products and parts for machines producing renewable energies as well as coils and aluminium electrolyte capacitors. The company has over 1,700 employees in Szombathely.

According to public company data, Epcos registered an income of 200 million EUR in the financial year ending on 31 March 2013, down from 227 million EUR booked a year earlier. The majority of the company's products are exported. The company registered a net profit of 4.89 EUR, down from 14.2 million EUR in 2012.
