Eckerle announces layoffs affecting nearly all employees in Zalaegerszeg
Eckerle Automotive Zala Kft. has announced a collective downsizing campaign in Zalaegerszeg for early 2020, Hungarian news outlet Alfahír reports.
The German-owned parts manufacturer says the layoffs are a result of continued decline in demand.
The mass layoff affects more than 200 people, nearly the entire staff.
The dismantling of production lines has also began, those will be relocated to the Eckerle plants in Bóly, Hungary, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
