Delphi to create 50 jobs in Tatabánya

Automotive electrical connectors manufacturer Delphi announced on Tuesday at its plant in Tatabanya that it had completed a HUF 3.33 billion investment project launched in 2013.

Csaba Sebestyén, the CEO of the Hungarian division, said that the project, creating 50 new jobs in Tatabánya, was supported by a HUF 996 million EU support.

The CEO added that 25 electronic moulding machines, tools and an automatic assembly line were purchased.

The Tatabánya-based Delphi plant's headcount is now close to 1,400. The plant was formerly owned by the FCI group, a member of U.S.-based investor group Bain Capital.

In October 2012, FCI's automotive connector division was acquired by U.S.-based Delphi Automotive and has been operating under the name Delphi Connection Systems Hungary Kft.

Delphi has been present in Hungary since 1991, investing some HUF 66 billion in the last 24 years.

The group has three locations in Hungary: Tatabánya, Balassagyarmat and Szombathely, with a total headcount of 3,000.

The company manufacture automotive connectors for international vehicle manufacturers.

Delphi Automotive is a global supplier of automotive parts and technologies, supplying car and commercial vehicle manufacturers and producers from other segments through a network of technology centres, production sites and service centres across 32 countries worldwide.
