Delay: BKV still in wait for Ikarus bus deliveries
According to Hungarian daily Népszava, the delivery of Modulo 168 d buses to BKV are in serious delay. While the 30th unit was due to join BKV’s fleet on April 11, Ikarus Egyedi Autóbusz Gyártó Kft. (IEAG) had only delivered 5 vehicles before the deadline.
With a net value of HUF 86 million per unit, BKV would have invested HUF 2.6 billion in 30 new buses, but have only paid for five units in total so far.
Moreover, the five buses have still not entered operation at the Budapest-based transport company.
