Decision on CEE location for VW battery plant to be made in 2022

Volkswagen is planning to make a decision on the location of its new CEE battery cell plant in the first half of 2022. Hungary is also among the potential candidates.
The German OEM giant announced earlier this year that it would build six large-scale battery plants in Europe by the end of the decade as part of its electrification strategy, one of which could be built in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia or the Czech Republic.
